The SPKtR is the next evolution of the legendary SPK legacy that dates from 1978— a fierce new collaboration between Graeme Revell and Robert Revell, forging a modern incarnation of the original project’s radical spirit, sonic extremity, and cultural provocation.
Graeme Revell is a renowned cult film and game composer whose credits include The Crow, The Craft, From Dusk ’Til Dawn, Sin City, Blow, Call of Duty, and Dune. Across decades of boundary-pushing work, he helped revolutionise film scoring through the integration of industrial sound design, ethnic instrumentation, and the human voice used as a raw, physical instrument.
With the addition of his son Robert, The SPKtR brings a new generational intensity — fusing SPK’s confrontational DNA with cutting-edge technologies, modern production techniques, and immersive audiovisual experimentation. The result is a future-facing hybrid of ritual electronics, guitars, cinematic brutality, and uncompromising experimentation. Always unexpected. Always delivers.
After four decades of composing across film, games, and the outer edges of experimental sound, Graeme Revell has honed the ability to write in many different styles — but the overriding mission has never been to repeat the past. The goal is always the same: to push forward, to collide influences, and to explore what’s possible now — new technologies, new tensions, new combinations.
As Revell began writing the new material, he quickly discovered something important: it was impossible to settle on a single style. The work kept branching, mutating, demanding different forms. In the end, the most honest approach was to divide it into two distinct collections:
1) THE SPKtR — where melody plays a central role.
Cinematic, emotive, ritualistic and immersive, this is the more luminous current: structured, melodic, and expansive. The SPKtR will debut live at Wave-Gotik-Treffen, May 2026.
2) SPKtR XXX — where noise and rhythm he pioneered are paramount.
Harder, darker, more visceral— a relentless architecture of impact, distortion, and propulsion. SPKtR XXX will roll out throughout the year, culminating in a major live statement at Wroclaw Industrial Festival, November 2026.
Two directions. One intent: not to tread old paths — but to excavate new ones.
